WHO WE ARE
Children have so much to offer to the world - we believe in the power that they hold, and know that they will mold future generations to come. At Life House Youth Center, we are here to give them the support they need to maximize their full potential. We have a number of programs and classes that help nurture our youth and help them develop the skills they will carry throughout their lives. Donate today, and see how you can make an impact!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Lynne Huffman is a volunteer, program leader, and mentor at the Life House Youth Center. She has been with us almost since the beginning (September 1st, 2017). Lynne is a volunteer that goes above and beyond to make her time, as well as the Center itself, be the most effective place possible. Lynne comes in every Tuesday and Thursday (sometimes more) to volunteer at the center to help prepare/cook/serve dinner to our average of 65 students a night. She is also involved with our mentorship program and actively mentors a 10-year-old young girl.
Lynne is a woman who loves to cook and make good food. She is also talented at shopping on a budget. She has led a cooking class every Thursday night for the past several months to help teach our students how to cook good food on a small budget. She is a volunteer that goes far above the normal expectations of the youth center. When asked why she enjoys volunteering at the youth center she said, "It's a win win. I get to share my knowledge and experience with the younger generation and in turn they keep me current in technology and youth culture. They help me grow as much if not more than I help them. We all have an obligation to offer these kids an example of what's possible despite their circumstances, instead of reinforcing the negative messages already in their heads."
